SCOTT WEILAND's Widow Opens Up About Year Of Grief

According to The Pulse Of Radio, Jamie Weiland, the widow of late STONE TEMPLE PILOTS frontman Scott Weiland, recently posted a tribute to her husband on Facebook in which she spoke about dealing with his loss during the past year. Jamie wrote: "Anguish. Longing and sobbing and disbelief that I have no way of ever describing. Darkness that I would have never considered to even be possible. A funeral I barely remember. Nights of sleeplessness, holding his ashes in our bed." She later continued: "Days turned to weeks, and to months… Utter heartbreak, anxiety… numbly going through the motions. The avalanche of having to start my life over completely. Finding a new place to live, trying to work when most days I wasn’t entirely sure I could form a sentence. My heart, hollow. My mind was a scattering of so many pieces I wondered if I’d lost it entirely." Jamie went on to describe "legal issues and horrific social media commentary… misunderstandings about him, about me… hurtful and cruel and beyond comprehension," before revealing that she had been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) that left her unable to "drive a car or hold a pen without shaking." Her post then took a more hopeful turn, discussing "the things that came into my life after his passing, the things I refer to as his 'secret gifts'…. an influx of new friends, relatives, possibilities, inspiration. A new vision of myself, almost as if I can see ‘me’ through his eyes." She ended the post by saying she was "healing" and "grateful... to those angels in my life that have been there for me… my amazing friends and family that have held me up through all of this." Scott Weiland died on December 3, 2015 of an overdose of drugs and alcohol while on tour with his solo band, THE WILDABOUTS. STONE TEMPLE PILOTS had parted ways with him for the second time in 2013, recruiting LINKIN PARK's Chester Bennington as their singer for a two-year stint. The band is currently still without a singer, although they have held extensive auditions in the past year and are said to have possibly made a selection. STP paid tribute to their late singer on the anniversary of his death, writing online: "We often think of you and are reminded of you daily with many memories. Then there is the music the four of us carved out allowing us to listen and feel how brilliant you are... We miss you, Scott."
